What we're about

This is a group for songwriters/lyricists/composers of all levels to perform their songs in a supportive environment and get feedback, attend songwriting workshops, network with each other, organize open mics and songwriter showcases, and post their concerts on the calendar. We will speak English and/or German at our gatherings.

Songwriter Circle

American Women's Club of Zurich

The idea of the Songwriter Circle is to play an original song and get feedback from the circle. Please bring enough lyrics sheets for everyone (you'll get them back with our comments). Lyricists and instrumentalists are also welcome and may find someone to collaborate with. The cost is CHF 20. Minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 people: Please keep your RSVP updated so no one misses out. Please be on time because we'll start playing the songs at 7:10pm and finish by 9pm. This is for people who write as therapy or creative expression to performing songwritings to seasoned pros with hits on the charts. The only rule is to be supportive and respectful of other people's songs. Feedback should always start with comments about the positive aspects of the song. Please bring 1-2 songs to share with the group and lyric sheets (with a large font) for everyone if you want feedback on lyrics. We'll go around the circle and each present one song, take a break to socialize/network, and then go around the circle again (if there's time since the event ends at 9pm). Live is best, so bring your instrument - but you can also bring a CD or some other form of media. Please do not bring recording equipment since this is not intended as a performance. The songs are sometimes still a "diamond in the rough."

The new location is near Klusplatz (tram 3 or 8 to Hoelderlein stop). The buzzer for the Vibratuning Practice is on the upper left side. Walk or take the lift to the 3rd floor. Holistic Voice Class

American Women's Club of Zurich

Explore your voice as an instrument of self-expression and healing! Even if you are not a singer or public speaker, this holistic approach will help you to optimize your voice as an expression of your personality: The basic principle of the workshop is the 3Rs of relax, release, and regenerate. The relaxing breathwork and release exercises free your energy flow. In the third step of regeneration, you can sing along with special sounds that support the overtones in your voice. Even though the location is the AWCZ, the class is open to everyone (including men!). Please reserve your space by sending an email to [masked]. Christine M. Grimm, Master of Fine Arts/UCLA, is a sound therapist who practices in Zurich and KlangWelt Toggenburg. Her Vibratuning method integrates training and experience in voice, BioSonic Repatterning, Performance Wellness, and yoga therapy. She offers individual sessions for voice analysis, holistic voice, and sound therapy. Please see www.Vibratuning.com (English) for more information.
