The Zurich Comedy Club: "Don't Dress for Dinner" (in english)

A deliciously funny romp in the French countryside
by Marc Camoletti adapted by Robin Hawdon

Bernard is planning a romantic weekend with his chic Parisian mistress in his charming converted French farmhouse, whilst his wife, Jacqueline, is away. He has arranged for a cordon bleu cook to prepare gourmet delights, and has invited his best friend, Robert, along to provide the alibi. It's foolproof; what could possibly go wrong?
Well.... suppose Robert turns up not realizing quite why he has been invited. Suppose Robert and Jacqueline are secret lovers, and consequently determined that Jacqueline will NOT leave for the weekend. Suppose the cook has to pretend to be the mistress and the mistress is unable to cook. Suppose everyone's alibi gets confused with everyone else's. An evening of hilarious confusion ensues as Bernard and Robert improvise at breakneck speed.

The Zurich Comedy Club (ZCC) has earned the title 'Home of English-speaking theatre in Zurich since 1954'. It has performed some 140 plays in English since then - from comedies to Shakespeare.

I was just kidding... Anyways, no tickets...

      November 12, 2013

  • Nik C.

Oh, and for those on the waitlist -- I believe all advance tickets are now sold out. But there are some tickets kept back and sold on the door (for cash, no cards) each night. The box office opens at 18.30 each night (Tue-Fri, 16.00 on Sat) and tickets are sold first-come first-served.

For those that want to drink afterwards -- there should be drinks in the Front of House area for a little while after the show is finished (which is at about 10pm). Also, D-Vinos is just down the road if anyone wants to go on afterwards.

You might see me in the FoH during the interval (hard to miss; tall, dressed largely in black, with a large torch hanging from my belt). If you do, do say hi and let me know what you think of it so far.

I'll be finished backstage and locking up the theatre at about 10.30, and will cheerfully join for a drink or two (and am happy to answer any questions anyone might have, especially if seeing the show inspires you to volunteer for future productions).

    I've just suggested another meetup.
    here's the link:
    http://www.meetup.com/Zurich-fun-social-indoor-and-outdoor-Activities/events/149318352/

Quite a lot tickets are still available for Tuesday, 12 November so that's why I chose the date. If enough ppl sign up and tickets are still available, I will order them!

    November 5, 2013

  • Nicole

As there are a few ppl on the waiting list, I was wondering wether someone can plan another meet up for another date?

    November 4, 2013

    • Nik C.

Rats, hit Enter too soon. To make it easier for people to agree on date, I created http://doodle.com/4pi.... Go there, and mark which days you can make it. Then you can see which day is most popular, and book a Meetup for that day.

thanks very much Nik - I cannot creat a new meetup but I can suggest one. That's what I did. Thanks ever so much for creating a doodle. But I had to chose a date based on tickets available! Cheers N
