Al Puzzuoli will be speaking to us about what it's like to use websites as a screen reader user in his talk, "Learn to Listen: Viewing the Web from the Perspective of a Screen Reader User". He will give an interactive talk / demo to show how screen readers access websites, and will talk about some of the difficulties faced by people who are blind when they use the web.
Al lives in Troy, Michigan, and currently works as an accessibility consultant for the Paciello Group. Previously, he served as an Information Technologist at the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities at Michigan State University. He has worked with accessibility and assistive technology for over 20 years and is a highly proficient screen reader user.
