Scuba Dive with Whale Sharks, and Shark Sharks in Atlanta

  • No location was chosen

  • I've pushed this off a bit, as I think Atlanta would be a better trip when it's a little bit colder outside.

This is a tentative event, and I'm just gathering interest at this point... RSVP if you might be interested... the date most likely will change.  We'd carpool or fly to Atlanta depending upon preferences...

The gist of it goes: Certified divers pay $324.95 (retail dive price, hoping to get that lowered for a group rate) for a 30-40 minute dive in 6.3 million gallons of salt water. 4 whale sharks 4 manta rays, 6 sand tiger sharks, zebra sharks, black tip reef sharks, Goliath groupers, black blotched rays..etc are everywhere during the dive. A cheaper cost, and an even closer look at the whale sharks is the swim program. Certified and non-certified divers pay $224 ( again, retail cost, hoping to get that lowered for a group rate) stay at the surface of the water and you swim the whole exhibit in 30 to 40 minutes. All the while whale sharks 16 to 30 feet long are swimming with in arms reach. All though you can't  reach out and touch, they may bump you. We would, of course, tour the whole aquarium before the swim/dive and should be able to see other places in downtown Atlanta

Starting to make plans around this time of year, can we firm up the dates Andrew?

Would it be worthwhile to get certified for scuba diving prior to this event?
