New time for The Run

It's cold now so we're moving The Run to take advantage of that extra 4 or 5 degrees of sunny afternoon warmishness. The new time is Sunday at 2, see the calendar.

Cold weather running tips for The Run:
Plan to run every week because we will be disappointed if you're not there, and you will be disappointed if you don't run. Check the weather to decide how to dress, not to decide whether to run.

Bring a hat, gloves and a zipper jacket. Wear long johns under your running pants and 2-3 top layers. You will only be cold for the first mile. Synthetic clothes will insulate better if dampened by sweat, or soaked by cold rain.

Run at an easy pace because the cold dry air can be irritating if you hyperventilate. Set a pace you can sustain for your planned route; you might get cold if you run out of steam and have to walk back.

New runners: If you're not ready for 6.5 miles, please print and study the route. There are easy shortcuts to make it 2 or 4 miles. Don't worry about keeping up with everyone at first. If you can run at least 2 miles, you're ready to join The Run. Come every week and you will make progress quickly.

Thanks,
Dylan
