Itinerary
Day 1-Thursday, November 6: Arrival in Hamilton, Missouri
Join us for a scenic journey from St. Louis Park to Hamilton, Missouri. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed at the Education Center by your local host, Cherry. She will provide an overview of the next two days and share a map highlighting the 16 quilt shops and dining options available in downtown Hamilton. Enjoy a delightful catered dinner at the Education Center. After dinner, there will be a short transfer to The Fairfield Inn in Chillicothe, where you will check in and have the rest of the evening to relax and settle into your accommodations.

Day 2- Friday, November 7: Exploring Quilt Town U.S.A.
Begin your day with a hearty, hot breakfast served in the hotel’s breakfast room, preparing you for an exciting day of exploration.
Spend some time in Hamilton and immerse yourself in the town’s 16 iconic Missouri Star quilt shops, each offering a unique charm. Highlights include:
- Main Shop: The flagship store, brimming with fabrics, apparel, books, and patterns.
- Penney’s: Located in the historic J.C. Penney’s store, offering quilting tools, solids, and blenders.
- Man’s Land: A relaxing retreat for non-shoppers, featuring plush leather recliners, big-screen TVs, and charging stations.
- Batik Boutique: A vibrant haven for batik enthusiasts.
- Fabric Market: Hamilton’s newest shop, housed in a former butcher shop, where you can purchase fabric by the pound at the “meat counter” and enjoy a specialty soda from Ella Jane’s Soda Shop.
- Backing & Borders: Themed shopping for licensed fabrics, modern designs, kids’ and baby items, and seasonal collections.
For your independent lunch, you can choose from a variety of local dining options in Hamilton, including:
- Eggos: Burgers, wraps, and comfort food.
- Morocco’s: Smaller menu with tasty bites.

- Kathy’s Kitchen: Homestyle meals.

This afternoon enjoy your hands-on class led by Courtenay Hughes. Create adorable zipper pouches, a charming keepsake, and an ideal small project to hone your skills.
Later, choose between a visit to the J.C. Penney childhood home, located a short walk from downtown, or additional free time to explore the quilt shops, tailoring the experience to your preferences. Gather at the Theater for an exclusive Trunk Show, showcasing a stunning array of quilts designed to inspire and ignite your creativity. This evening, return to Chillicothe and enjoy an included dinner at Applebee’s, conveniently located next to the hotel, offering a relaxed dining experience. The rest of the evening is yours to spend unwinding at the hotel, reflecting on the day’s discoveries.

Day 3- Saturday, November 8: Missouri Quilt Museum
Explore the Missouri Quilt Museum with a guided tour showcasing antique sewing machines, miniature quilts, and rotating artist displays that highlight quilting heritage. Join Courtenay Hughes for a creative session to make a charming table runner as a keepsake from your experience in Hamilton. Enjoy a boxed lunch at the museum, including a ham and cheese croissant, chips, a cookie, and a drink. *Please notify your travel advisor in advance of any dietary needs. Later, you'll have some time to explore Hamilton’s quilt shops one last time to visit your favorites or check off your must-visit list. End the day with a steak dinner at PC Steakhouse, celebrating your quilting adventure.
