DESCRIPTION
We commence our hike in Great Missenden, a truly swizzfigglingly flushbunkingly gloriumptious village, which was home to Roald Dahl and where he wrote many of his whizzpopping books. We will follow the footsteps of the BFG and visit the Roald Dahl memorial in the local church before heading out of the village and into the Chilterns Countryside.
We'll follow the trail and head up Balcombe Hill, passing through National Trust land and a 'Site of Special Scientific Interest', enjoying fantastic views from the Coombe Hill monument overlooking the Chilterns and the Prime Ministers Country home - Chequers.
We'll continue our walk through the woods and countryside heading back to Great Missenden. There is a Christmas market planned within Missenden Abbey (note there is a small entrance fee £4) where depending on time we'll aim to visit, then head to a local pub for refreshments before heading home.
