Continuing our book study thru 1 Samuel, this week we'll be in chapters 8-11. Here we'll see the Israelites rebellion against The Lord move to a new level as they demand a King be put in charge, thus establishing the nation as a monarchy. Samuel grants their wish, but solemnly warns them of the consequences of their actions. Sure enough, trouble will come their way as a result. What a powerful and poignant study for us today as we will learn how it's always The Lord who allows kings to rule over us, and why He allows it. This is a particularly humbling study for us, and may help answer and allay some fears we harbor even today about our own government. Make plans to attend, and prepare to be blessed as we continue to dive headlong into The Lord's word!
As usual, we will meet in room 207 of the Calvary Community Church campus. The easiest directions are to exit I-17 @ Cactus, go one block west to 28th Drive, then one block north to Larkspur. The church campus and room 207 are on the northeast corner of the intersection. While we are not officially affiliated with Calvary for this study, I wish to thank the pastors for their generosity and trust in allowing us to continue to use this room.
Looking forward to studying with everyone again!
