Friday Night Legends LXXIII (73)

I know I’m writing and posting these in advance but I sincerely mean this when I say I hope everyone had a great time at San Japan. I know it’s like my past self is writing the future members of ACES spooky right? I know I’m just too cool but anyways on to the announcements so we finish Gargantia tonight and it promises to be one epic conclusion! Also the replacement for Gargantia is just as great as Gargantia was but somewhat of an older show. Folks I would like to present to you Samurai 7 in its entire glory. I know once years ago we had watched much of this amazing series but had not finished it. So now I bring it forth from the archives for our viewing pleasure for some this may be a rewatch but I know this isn’t a disappointing factor. If anything you previous viewers out there may be over due for a rewatch. I do hope that everyone enjoyed SNAFU but sadly it must be filed away I will have a new temp show to replace it before next Friday Night Legends. We will also be continuing with the wonderful and delightful Okami-san.  So please come by for some great company, amazing shows, and tasty boba drinks and as always thank you.

My Teenage RomCom SNAFU!(Romantic/Comedy PG-13): episode 5 “Once Again, He Returned To His Original Path” and episode 6 “Finally The Beginning Between Him And Her Has Ended”

This romantic comedy revolves around an antisocial high school student named Hikigaya Hachiman with a distorted view on life and no friends or girlfriend. When he see his classmates talking excitedly about living their adolescent lives, he mutters: "They're a bunch of liars." When he is asked about his future dreams, he responds: "Not working." A teacher gets Hachiman to join the 'Volunteer Service' club, which happens to have the school's prettiest girl: Yukinoshita Yukino.

Okami-san & Her Seven Companions (Romantic/Comedy/Parody PG-13): episode 4 “Ōkami-san and Otsū-senpai's Repayment of Favor” and episode 5 “Ōkami-san Goes Demon-Exorcising with Momo-chan-senpai”

Ookami and Ringo are members of the Otogi Bank, a club in Otogi High School that assists students with their problems in return for their assistance on a different problem at a later date; thus the Otogi Bank is effectively a loan institute for problems where you can take out a loan for a solved problem but you have to repay it sooner or later. The Otogi Bank is able to solve any problem and will go to any lengths to do so, often leading the members to danger or mayhem. Since most of the members of the club are female, another male is needed for the more dangerous assignments. Thus, the scopophobic (the fear of being looked at) Morino Ryoushi is inducted as a member, right after he confesses his love for Ookami...

Suisei no Garugantia (Sci-fi/Action/Drama PG-13): episode 13 “Legend of the Verdurous Planet”

In the distant future, mankind has taken to the stars and formed the Galactic Alliance of Humankind. The Alliance is engaged in a perpetual war with a tentacle alien species known as the Hideauze. 16-year-old Ensign Ledo is a soldier in the Galactic Alliance, piloting a Machine Caliber (Mech Combat Unit), an AI-automated, humanoid-shaped battle suit, which he refers to as 'Chamber'. After a failed attempt by the Alliance forces to destroy an enemy super-weapon, Ledo is knocked into a wormhole and loses consciousness. When he awakens, he learns from Chamber that he has been in cryo-stasis for 6 months while his wounds were healing. But where exactly have Lt. Ledo and Chamber ended up…

Samurai 7 (Sci-fi/Action PG-13): episode 1 “The Master”

Samurai 7 tells the story of a village named Kanna. Every year during the harvest, a group of bandits come and steal away almost all of the rice that had been harvested that year. Not only that, the bandits are becoming more demanding, now taking women and children in addition to rice. The elder of Kanna Village has decided that to protect the village they must hire samurai to fight against the bandits. However, the village has no money and thus must find samurai willing to protect the village for a payment of rice. Three members of the village leave to attempt to recruit samurai. They travel to the city and search for samurai willing to work, and after finding several samurai and having a few encounters with the local government, they return to Kanna village to prepare defenses against the bandits.
