Cloud Deployment Pipeline - Aaron Feng, forty9ten

  • Jan 14, 2014 · 7:00 PM

Greetings All,

One of our newer members, Aaron Feng, has kindly agreed to present on Tuesday. He'll be speaking about his experience implementing AWS-integrated continuous deployment systems for several of his consulting clients. Should be a great session.

Here are the details from Aaron...

Title:  Cloud Deployment Pipeline

Abstract:

In this talk I will discuss a cloud deployment pipeline I have helped build and design from the ground up for a well known client in the video game industry.  I will cover how the software is built, tested, verified, and finally released into the wild.  The tooling I will be discussing help streamline the whole deployment process.

The deployment pipeline helped to deploy quickly and predictably into the AWS environment.  The application is fully distributed, handles billions of requests each day and it requires a fast deployment cycle without any downtime.  I will also cover the evolution of the deployment pipeline and how we arrived at this final design.

About me:

I am the Founder of forty9ten, a software consulting company that specializes in cloud infrastructure and DevOps.  I have consulted with some of the largest companies in the financial, computing, and the video gaming industry.  I recently moved to Atlanta from the Philadelphia area where I helped organize various tech meet ups such as PhillyLambda, Philly Startup Hackers, and Philly AWS.

The talk is based on this blog post: http://bit.ly/19etGdU It will be high level but technical. The tech on that blog post is just an example, it can be constructed differently.
