The goal of Active Catholic is to use Meetup to bring Catholics together and extend the reach of our Church and the love of Jesus through regular meetups.
Being an Active Catholic means many things- it means you are an active practicing Catholic, or that you want to be one and will engage in acts of charity, prayer, coming to knoe God, Church events and other types of service to further the will of God. It also means that you are physically active as a Catholic parishioner and enjoy hiking or biking or walking in a way that expresses your faith and devotion to the Catholic way of life in community with other Catholics. Being physically active and healthy in body and mind, as much as in soul and spirit.
We are open to current and returning Catholics, and also non-Catholics with an interest in Catholicism or who just want to be friends with Catholics. No one is turned away.
This is a multi-day pilgrim walk starting San Juan Bautista and ending in Carmel. We walk via the old El Camino Real paths through the hills and into Salinas, Seaside and Monterrey, finally ending our walk in Carmel.
Startng at Fort Funston and following gravel trails and then a walk on the beach, this can be a barefoot walk most of the way. Ending at Lands End Labyrinth where you can throw your sacrifices to the ocean.
Honoring this great writer, wanderer and adventurer with a walk from Jack London Square to Jack London State Park. The walk is intended to bring healing and positive spirit to the burned areas of Sonoma and Napa counties through the healing process of walking, seeing and being seen.
