  • You must be an experienced hiker
  • Experience in Wilderness First Aid and/or Canine First Aid are a plus but are not required
  • You must commit to at least 3 hikes a calendar year

When posting a hike include the following:

  • Date and meeting time
  • Total Mileage
  • Fees associated with event
  • Hike difficulty: Easy, Medium, or Hard
  • Expected amount of time the hike will require
  • Description of terrain, elevation gain, etc.
  • Leash restrictions/requirements for the trail as set by local park or county authorities
  • General description of the trail and what you expect dogs to be able to do (i.e. swimming)
  • Additional web links if available
  • Description on where to meet
  • Link to Group Google Map with trailhead/parking location obtained from Group Organizer
  • Group sizes are limited to 15 maximum, unless a lower number is required by a local park authority where you will be hiking

What to provide the Group Organizer prior to posting:

  • Detailed trailhead/parking location to be added to event description
  • For your first event only, please send the entire details to the Group Organizer before posting it to the calendar


Not much effort is required to plan a trip, but please be prepared with detailed route information. You do not have to share every detail in the event description, but please make sure that you know this information. Also, please make sure that you are going from an updated and accurate map and be able to note in the event description anything that may be of use to members in deciding to attend or not.
