Hello everyone!

Great news.....the new kitchen at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission has now opened! This means that everyone will now have a chance to help serve the meals to the homeless. The new an improved kitchen is more than 11,000 square feet with the capacity to seat 300 hungry people at a time.
At this event we will be needing 34 dependable volunteers.

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission sits in the shadow of the neon and flash of downtown Las Vegas. The non-profit Christian organization is a homeless shelter and recovery program dedicated to getting people off the streets. The mission has been serving the needs of the poor, addicted and homeless for more than 35 years. From it's humble beginning the Las Vegas Rescue Mission has continued to grow and now covers more than two full blocks of West Bonanza Road.

Sunday October 11th A.O.K. members will be serving dinner to the many 'in-need' who line the streets of West Bonanza, Main Street and Las Vegas Boulevard North. No doubt, you've seen the many homeless scattered along the sidewalks living in pup tents, while others push grocery carts filled with all their belongings.

Sunday dinner is served at 4:30pm inside the Las Vegas Rescue Mission for anyone that needs a meal. Volunteers (that's us) serve 100's of meals every day of the year at there location to hungry women, men and children. We will need to arrive at the Mission promptly at 4:15pm. Upon arrival there will be a brief orientation and we will each be assigned a task, it could be filling water glasses, distributing plates, trays, passing out the water, serving the meals or helping in the kitchen.

Volunteers for this event are asked to dress modestly and to wear closed toe shoes. Aprons, gloves and hair nets will be provided or you can bring your own.
Meal time concludes at 5:30 pm, so count on being there approximately 1hour and 30 minutes.

Many A.O.K. members have been inquiring about an opportunity to serve the homeless in this environment. The maximum number of volunteers needed today is 34 so if you RSVP yes and your plans change please update your RSVP.
There is plenty of secured parking on site. When you arrive at the security gate, please be sure to tell the guard that you are with A.O.K..

If you've been here before, welcome back! If you've not been here the new kitchen is located to the left of the security gate.
