Downtown 360 cleanup

It's something we all see as we drive around our wonderful city; area's that really could use some TLC. Through multiple event's, the City of Las Vegas has been actively trying to clean up some area's of town.

The Downtown Area Command Community Oriented Policing Squad is currently using an innovative program to develop community partnerships. The project name is Downtown 360.

The cleanup event on April 20, 2013 is one of several events through the Downtown 360 program. They will be organizing a group of individuals from the surrounding community, business and various city entities to paint curbs, graffiti and hydrants. Volunteers will also be picking up trash and addressing any other issues identified at that time to better the community.

Let's join them on thier next cleanup and help keep our city beautiful and able to be enjoyed by all. This is a great opportunity for friends, groups and those that like to be outside when they volunteer - the weather should be ideal this time of year!

Volunteers must wear closed toe shoes, and weather appropriate attire. City officials will provide all needed supplies for the cleanup. If you plan on being part of the 'painting crews' please make sure you wear clothes you don't mind getting a little paint on.

The cleanup will be wrapped up around 11am and a barbeque will be held at the end of the event for everyone.

Hope to see you there!

A little disorganized. I did get there just after 8a and I could not locate our group, so I just joined up with another one. Once things got going, it worked a little better. This is by no means a reflection on AOK, more so the actual organizers of the event, Downtown 360.

In the end , I got to meet some new people and help out the community and that is really what it is all about. Sorry, I did not get to connect with any of the AOK peeps....next time! :-)

Agreed. The 360 organizer I spoke with was baffled when I asked if the Meetup group was there.

But I tagged a dumpster with A.O.K. in yellow paint to represent.

Wait . . . we were supposed to be *covering* graffiti?? Oooops.

Sorry everyone. We have been circling the address the police officer emailed Alicia since 7am and didn't see anything. We are leaving downtown. Thanks to everyone that attempted to help and thanks to John for actually helping even though he didn't tell us where he's at lol

Hi john, Alicia and I are actually sitting on a side street near the address they provided, trying to get a hold of someone, we are lost too!! Usually these cleanups are really organized, not sure what's going on.

    Good Morning!

Maybe's are fine for this event. While they will need all the help they can get, they are not assigning job detail until the day of. If your maybe turns from to a yes or no, please update so I know to look out for you. Thanks!
