It's something we all see as we drive around our wonderful city; area's that really could use some TLC. Through multiple event's, the City of Las Vegas has been actively trying to clean up some area's of town.
The Downtown Area Command Community Oriented Policing Squad is currently using an innovative program to develop community partnerships. The project name is Downtown 360.
The cleanup event on April 20, 2013 is one of several events through the Downtown 360 program. They will be organizing a group of individuals from the surrounding community, business and various city entities to paint curbs, graffiti and hydrants. Volunteers will also be picking up trash and addressing any other issues identified at that time to better the community.
Let's join them on thier next cleanup and help keep our city beautiful and able to be enjoyed by all. This is a great opportunity for friends, groups and those that like to be outside when they volunteer - the weather should be ideal this time of year!
Volunteers must wear closed toe shoes, and weather appropriate attire. City officials will provide all needed supplies for the cleanup. If you plan on being part of the 'painting crews' please make sure you wear clothes you don't mind getting a little paint on.
The cleanup will be wrapped up around 11am and a barbeque will be held at the end of the event for everyone.
Hope to see you there!
