Advaita C'ville Discussion will meet at 6pm every other Monday begining 8/4.

May we explore what this "excercise" actually looks like in practice.

How the challenge of living in beingness and not doingness challenges the illusory ego.

Intuitively, we all know this beingness to be our true nature and the ego is a masquerade we all wear to protect and defend the seperate self. This clearly keeps us in bondage.

After all, "All the world is a stage!"

It was a stimulating discussion and no observable, permanent, psychic damage was done.

The initial meetups at Aquafloat have been so much better than the last few we had at Cville Coffee. The new venue provides a spacious, quiet and comfortable room, a large screen TV for videos, and the meeting format has been more structured.

Yes Jamie, No resistence to that which is. That must mean transcendence of the ego which is responsible for judgements. By what means can the ego be transcended? We know the mind can't conquer the mind via itself. A great topic for Monday nights discussion.

This quote reminded me of the video we watched at the last meeting:
Between the banks of pain and pleasure the river of life flows. It is only when the mind refuses to flow with life, and gets stuck at the banks, that it becomes a problem.

Ran across this quote, reminding me of our discussion about the importance of self-inquiry at the 8/18 meeting:
The more you know yourself, the more clarity there is. Self-knowledge has no end - you don't come to an achievement, you don't come to a conclusion. It is an endless river.
