It's time for Kerntastic 2011! On this trip we'll split into two groups to go whitewater rafting, led by certified, permitted, & insured guides. The Class III group will do a beginner-friendly run down rapids up to class III for one hour. The Class Four group will do an intermediate run down rapids up to class IV for four hours. First-timers will be fine doing the class IV run and are welcome to join this group if interested. We'll also have hot springs, hiking, campfire marshmallow roasting, and group games like catchphrase and twister. We had so much fun before that I can't wait to get back up there this year! Everyone on this trip is either a friend or a new friend, so prepare to make new friends and to have a good time!
Kids must be at least 10 years old and 50 lbs. No dogs, unfortunately. The drive will be three hours from LA + traffic.
Class III (1 hour)
- $59.99 + Paypal fee (http://bit.ly/g1vW4L)
Class IV (4 hours)
- $139.99 + Paypal fee (http://bit.ly/eG4QPF) + wet suit rental
Please make sure you can receive email through the email address linked to your Paypal account, or be sure to get the right email address to me so you don't miss important info.
To skip Paypal fee, send payment to dpotter05 at gmail out of your Paypal balance or bank account (not credit card), mark it "personal, other", and mention this group.
Trip fee includes rafting, firewood, required campfire permit + water buckets & safety shovel, marshmallows + custom roasting sticks, detailed trip itinerary handout + customized map, camp table, hand washing & restroom station, trash & recycle stations, dry erase board, shade tent, benches, extra camp chairs, wrist band, and access to $5 life vest rentals for playing in the river.
I can do refunds until Monday April 18th at 10pm. Afterwards, you'll need to find a replacement.
We'll be doing "dispersed" camping for this trip, also known as "primitive" camping. This means we'll be camping in our own area where we can spread out as much as we want, make a lot of noise, and won't bother anybody. If preferred over find a secluded bush in the wilderness, the closest bathroom will be a two mile drive down the street. I'll have a hand-washing station set up at the camp. Quiet time will be from 12:00am to 8:30am.
No sandals or bare feet will be permitted. You'll need a second pair of shoes to get wet ($15 water shoes are great). Life jackets & helmets are provided. Wet suits are required for the class IV half day run and can be rented for $19. Wet suits are not required for the class III run. Leave everything you don't want to get wet in your car. If you have a good time please tip the guides.
Eat dinner on your way up Fri night. Bring food for breakfast on Sat & Sun. We'll be eating out for lunch and dinner on Saturday. There are restaurants and a supermarket nearby.
----WHAT TO BRING----
