The Bird house Ledges are virtually unknown to the I-90 day hiker. It also happens to be one of my favorite viewpoints. I have spent many hours here soaking in the views. Not only is it scenic, it’s comfortable. This is a 4 mile round trip with a 1,300 foot gain. The trail is well graded (not too steep, but rocky). The trail to the Birdhouse Ledges is faint and slippery this time of year.
If the weather is nice, I will plan a second hike up to Hall Creek viewpoint and Joseph's Reach which is close by. This hike gains approximately 1300 feet in mile! It’s not dangerous, but steep. This is a 3 mile round trip.
Unless the snow level is unusually low next week, there is no need for snow shoes, but maybe traction devices. It is about 15 miles from Snoquamlie Coffee Company to the trailhead. Carpooling is suggested unless you are only planning to do the first hike.
If you plan on both hikes, we probably will not be done until 3:30 p.m.
The Discover Pass is required at the Dirty Harry's trailhead.
