Come join me for a nice day hike up Lundin Peak off 1-90. We will start on the Pacific Crest Trail north. After a couple miles, we will branch of into the Common Wealth basis for a break before heading up the switch backs to the base of Red Mountain where we will take another nice break before making the final ascent to the top of Lundin Peak. This hike about a 9.5-mile round trip with a 2,800 foot gain.
This will be an all day hike from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bring your cameras also. Lots of great views North, South, East, and West. Although climbers come to Lundin Peak for a challenge, we will not find any danger on this hike. We will stick to the hiking trails only. No climbing skills are required.
I'm reposting this hike from a few weeks ago since we were rained out. Unless the weatherman is completely wrong, it's supposed to be nice this Saturday with temperatures reaching the mid 60s. Be prepared still and bring your 10 essentials and extra clothing.
**Parking Passes and Carpooling**
The Northwest Trails Pass is required at the parking lot. It's 25 miles from the meet up point to the trailhead. I suggest carpooling and I have room for 3 people in my truck. Suggested amount for gas money: $5.00 USD.
**Note on Fitness**
This is a long hike and is steep in places. We will keep a moderate group pace. You should be involved in regular exercise to consider this hike.
