http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/6/5/0/6/event_82165862.jpegLet's go visit the snow-covered Mason Lake. About half way to Mason Lake up the old trail, we will hit snow along Mason Creek. If it's a nice day, we can explore the Alpine Wilderness plateau around Mason Lake also.
Round Trip: 7 Miles
Elevation Gain: 2,600 feet (the trail is very steep in places)
From the Meetup point at Sno Valley Coffee, I suggest we carpool as much as possible to the Ira Spring Trailhead. It's about a 25-minute drive with some dirt road near the trailhead.
**What to Bring**
Snow Shoes, poles, traction devices, warm clothes, gators, and your camera.
**Level of Difficulty**
This is a moderately-strenous hike that is steep in places. To enjoy this hike, you should be involved in regular exercise and have some snowshoe experience.
If avalanche danger is high Feb 24, I will change this hike on short notice.
