We will hike a total of 5-6 moderate miles out and back along the Eno River. We will start at the West Point on Eno Park entrance which is a half mile north of the main entrance to the park on the left after you cross the Eno River bridge on Roxboro Road, U.S. 501. Note: this entrance is not the main entrance. You must go across the bridge and then turn left into the park. There is a sign for the amphitheater at the entrance. We will hike on the Eagle Trail at West Point on Eno, and then cross over the Guess Rd. bridge to the Laurel Bluffs trail in Eno River State Park. After lunch, we can optionally visit Penny's Bend Nature Preserve, which is a short drive from the starting point for our West Point on the Eno hike. Be sure to pack snacks and or/lunch. Don't forget to bring plenty of water. We're planning to have lunch after our morning hike.
