NJ/NY Hiking, Cycling and Kayaking Pages

Thank you for joining! If anyone has any ideas and might be willing to lead a hike, walk, bike ride, etc. I am more then happy to work with you so we can schedule more events. I look forward to meeting everyone, and having a great time outdoors! smile

If you have a question, it is best to send me an email from the homepage link, then post on the site. As I don't always have time to look for new postings.

Who we are

We are a group of people made up of all different types of backgrounds in different stages of our lives. This is NOT specifically a "singles" group. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their relationship status. If two members meet & mutually agree to take things further, then that is fine - more power to them.

Having said that, please note that is is NOT appropriate to send emails or shouts to other group members you don't really know yet. Especially if it is stating more then "welcome to the group" or a similar comment.

What am I committing to when I say yes and participate in a hike or event with this group?

Hiking, rock scrambling, and other outdoor activities are dangerous. They can result in serious injury, medical emergency, paralysis, even death. By responding yes to an event (hereinafter referred to as "The Hiker") understands that they have voluntarily joined a group hike wherein they will be exposed to non-paved, non-settled wilderness areas where there may exist: uncertain footing, loose rock and soil, elevated trails, steep inclines, sharp stone, running water, and that these areas are occupied by wildlife and plants all of which are or may be hazardous to humans. The hiker also understands that the hike may include areas subject to extreme temperatures, inclement weather, lack of: water, food, shelter, immediate or regular medical assistance, communications to summon assistance, and that the cost for any medical assistance or transport for The Hiker is to be borne by The Hiker exclusively.

By responding YES to an event, The Hiker agrees to participate in this event completely at their own risk and to take full responsibility for their own safety and well-being.

The Hiker agrees to hereby release, indemnify, and hold harmless the organizers, hiking leaders and other participants of this Hiking and Nature Meetup event including specifically the hiking leaders of the event from any claim whatsoever which comes about directly or indirectly because of The Hiker's participation in the hike, whether or not he completes the hike, including travel to and from the group meeting point and travel to and from the trailhead. This release applies even if such accident(s) and/or mishap(s) is/are the result of some bad decision, poor judgment and/or terribly negligent action by the leader(s), organizer(s) and/or other participant(s). The Hiker agrees that this release also binds their heirs, assigns and estate.

The Hiker states that their physical condition, ability to accompany the hike leader, equipment, supplies, clothing, food, water, and medication are the sole responsibility of The Hiker and The Hiker states that The Hiker has determined them to be suitable for the hike whether or not the hike or hiker follows the route and time usually taken for such a hike. The Hiker agrees to follow the instructions of the leader(s). The Hiker states that they have read the hiking guidelines.

In addition, should (despite this release) The Hiker or their heirs, assigns and/or estate bring action against any organizer(s), leader(s), and/or participant(s) of this group as a result of this activity, and should such action fail to prevail, The Hiker (and/or your heirs, assigns, and/or estate) will reimburse the organizer(s), leader(s) and/or participant(s) for any expenses, legal or otherwise, they may incur in defending against such action.

In addition, I understand that while participating in this kind of activity or related activities I may be photographed. I understand and agree that the photograph(s) may be used in whole or in part, at any time, in composite or distorted form, in color or otherwise and may be displayed through any medium including, but not limited to printed medium, video or on the internet. By signing this waiver I authorize any initial and any subsequent disclosure or publication of the photograph(s) at any time.

You could become America's next top model! Imagine that, and we won't even ask for any finders fee...LOL
