Wed Night Skate Bike and Stroll Saddle River Co Park with dinner & drinks after!

PLEASE NOTE: Weather dependent!...

Come on out and join the GARDEN SKATERS every Wed night! "An eating and drinking club , with a skating problem."

IMPORTANT: Do Not go by the attendance list here! If you're interested in doing this, please come out and join the group. The Garden Skaters Skate Bike and Stroll does this every Wed, weather permitting, and always gets a good turnout. This Meetup is intended to help introduce new people into the group. The Garden Skaters is a program of the Garden State Ski Club.

I can't stress this enough... Don't come late... You will miss the group, and may not find parking. The group gathers in the far left corner of the lot, as you are pulling in.

If you aren't signed up, I have to assume that you're not coming... No need to state so... lol!

If you can't skate, bring your bike (and see if you can keep! If you can't bike, bring yourself and walk!

Join us for the WEDNESDAY NIGHT SKATE, BIKE & STROLL, at the Glen Rock duck pond. This is a joint event between the Garden Skaters, The Garden State Ski Club, and this group!

This is a great park. It's a smooth paved path in the shape of a big "Y". It runs through several towns, and the total distance is 14.8 miles, when you go from end to end to end and back! One branch ends in Ridgewood, the other in Rochelle Park, and the other in Glen Rock, where we will be starting from. We no longer do the Ridgewood branch, since it's usually not that well maintained anymore, and was never repaved. We will be going from Glen Rock to Rochelle Park and back, which will be around 12 miles round trip. As Daylight increases, we add extra loops around the Saddlebrook / Rochelle Park area to increase mileage, since we skip the Ridgewood section. We usually take breaks on the bridges, to let everyone catch up. This weekly event always gets a great turnout, and now with MeetUp, it will be even better!

Get there early! We share this lot with a local bicycle club, and they have been getting large turnouts, making parking difficult!!!

WHEN? Every Wed night, weather permitting (this will be a recurring meetup). Official start is 5/1/13, ending sometime in October depending the light and weather. We will be leaving the parking lot at 6 PM sharp, so get there 15 minutes early! In the beginning, since the day light is limited, we will be moving at a faster pace, and taking less breaks. We will be skating/biking 12 miles, along the path from Glen Rock to Rochelle Park.

Please note: Since this is mainly a skating event, and a lot of the group members travel an hour or more to get there, it can be canceled last minute, if there is a good possibility of rain! Even if it rained earlier, and if we don't think the trail had enough time to dry out, we will cancel. Many times the call is made as late as 4:30 PM.

Also, the walkers are not organized. People who are walking generally show up and do their own thing. Hopefully those who are walking will "meet up" in the parking lot as we all gather, and be able to walk together.

Please feel free to become a friend on Facebook, and be kept up to date with all current information: (

WHERE? Saddle River County Park, known as DUCK POND. We meet at the Glen Rock section of the park.

Dinner to follow @ a restaurant in Ridgewood afterwards (to be decided where during the evening).

We are meeting at the Glen Rock Lake in Saddle River Park, Alan Avenue, Glen Rock NJ (off Prospect - directions below), @ Large Parking Lot ( 2nd lot). We share this lot with the Bicycle Touring Club of North Jersey, so you will see a bunch of bikers, as well as us. Look for the people on skates. Note: The bike club that we share the lot with, gets a huge turnout, so if you don't get there early, you may not get a parking spot!!

From the Ridgewood Duck Pond head West on Ridgewood Avenue (duck pond will be on your right) and make a left turn on the 11th block, counting on the left hand side, (S. (Go over bridge), and keep going straight on Midland avenue. The name of the road changes to Grove when you enter Ridgewood.
