Lorraine Boissoneault, author of The Last Voyageurs: Retracing La Salle's Journey Across America: Sixteen Teenagers on an Adventure of a Lifetime, will speak in French about the reenactment of LaSalle’s expedition by leader Reid Lewis (Elgin) and his crew in handmade canoes down the Mississippi in one of the worst winters in Midwest history.

Ms. Boissoneault's book was named as one of five finalists in the "Traditional Non-Fiction" category of the Chicago Writers Association’s 2016 Book of the Year Awards.

These monthly lecture meetings with refreshments are organized by the Alliance Française du North Shore and are held in the Auditorium of the Wilmette Public Library, 1242 Wilmette.
