Here is the link to the retrospective that Jeff Sutherland gave at Google during QCon:

http://www.infoq.com/...

He discusses how Google's Mark Striebeck introduced one practice of scrum at a time in order to avoid disrupting the "googley way" of doing things. He also discusses how 42 Yahoo execs decided to transition the entire company to scrum as a consensus decision.

Jeff is the co-creator of scrum. Learn more about him here:

Tonight Rick mentioned Lean Thinking during his presentation as well. From my limited but growing understanding of this as regards to software, here is a great place to start:

Specifically their book Implementing Lean Software Development is, dare I say, an exciting read!

http://www.poppendiec...

This book elaborates on the Waste concepts Rick mentioned, as well as the 7 principles of Lean Software Development.

From my understanding, Toyota has been very influential in lean thinking due to the Toyota Production System. Much information about this is available here: http://www.infoq.com/...

I've been keeping a list of links and information on the ATL ALT.NET wiki regarding scrum and agile as well. This contains many links to other video presentations and web sites to keep learning more:

take care,
Josh
