6.10PM IT'S SO FLUFFY: AN ANIMATION PIPELINE
Artrix Senior Animator Mike Paech and Technical Artist Jeremy Koh will be speaking about the studio's most recent released game Animals in Teacups (http://www.artrix.com/animalsinteacups/index.html).
This talk outlines the process it takes to develop animal model-rigging-animation. Why standard methodologies do not always work and what methods were developed to make the production better. This session is aimed to help people understand industry standards for modelling and rigging, how to address collisions issues and fur proxies.
To get the most engaging experience with interacting with animals, we will explore what type of animations requirements were set up, how dynamics and active ragdoll system play a part and giving designers control of the tech in an intuitive way.
Mike Paech is a Senior Animator at Artrix Limited. He spent a good amount of time at Gameloft New Zealand working on Ice Age Adventures and now at Artrix where he continues to create and improve animation quality. He is currently the Lead Animator for Animals in Teacups, bringing animations interactions to life in a fun and interactive way.
Jeremy Koh is a Technical Game Designer at Artix Limited, building and finding creative solutions to help both artists and designers achieve quality products.
