Though this hike isn't specified on the fall hiking Spree it can be used as a selection for a hikers choice towards the goal of completling the 8 hikes.
The Monroe Falls Meadow trail offeres a great place to watch sunsets. There are a lot of photgraphers and a few astronomy clubs that meet here quite often to get pictures of the sunset and to gaze at the planets and star. The trail here is segmented to where there is about a half mile trail mostly on ashphalt and then a little longer one of a mile and finally a 2 mile trail. For those really adventurous types there is a connector trail to the other half of the park in which it is about 5 miles but a week night hike at this time of year would be difficult with the early sunsets.
I would rate what we plan on doing at a 1-Easy trail for the shorter trails and a 1.5 for the 2 mile loop.
