"Richard Hannay (Robert Donat), a Canadian visitor to London, gets embroiled in the world of a counter-espionage agent. When she is murdered Hannay is suspected, and he goes on the run in the Scottish highlands to save himself and to prevent the spy ring from getting hold of top-secret information. This film was an early international success for director Alfred Hitchcock. Also features Madeleine Carroll, John Laurie, Peggy Ashcroft. Based on John Buchan’s 1915 novel.
