Photo Scavenger Hunt w/Image Review

Seasonal. I think the strongest element of this photo is the color. I think the most distracting element of this photo is the blue lettering. The eye tries to read the characters.

Love the repetition of the diagonal yellow separating the red and blue.

The bow by itself would have been blase. The addition of the Blue sign fragment brings this alive for me. The blue echoes a blue shade beneath the bow connecting these two stong elements. Also, you made good use of depth of field, because, if the blue sign were in total focus, it would have detracted from the seasonal element represented by the bow. I enjoy the bold colors.

Strength- the use of color theory here- this is a primary color story. It's not garish in a "hell yeah America!" way b/c of the warmth of the yellow- had it been white, it would have been a different holiday's story. Also- the out-of-depth-of-field-focus curvature of the letters mimics the loops of the bow in a nice way. Distracting: the upper left corner- this would make a great square composition.

Great colors Carmel - really captures "seasonal" Wish the image was a little darker and richer with the colors. I would trade the dark shadows on the bow for the a richer yellow background. I like the unusual perspective!
