Photo Scavenger Hunt w/Image Review

Circular --- Strongest Element: reflection of trees adds mystery --- Distracting element: I'd like to see more of the globe on the right side, it makes me uncomfortable as a viewer as it appears --- Bill Gatesman

Interesting photo, visually. Just a thought: what if you had focused on the trees rather than the bulb? I wonder what that would have done for the story. Very intriguing photo--well done.

Ah, the benefit of hindsight. Carmel, I did not even notice the reflection of the trees until I looked at the photo in Photoshop. It might be worth a return trip to find out the answer to the "what if" that you pose.

@Carmel- that's a GREAT idea!! Strength: I really love this image- the way it seems to BURST from the frame. I think what you may be feeling as the distraction, Bill- is that I feel like it could be scooched a bit straighter to the left (rotated a bit counter-clockwise). And i really mean just a teeeeeny bit. But I love the connection of the electricity with the trees. Makes me think of lightening strikes and Benjamin Franklin and that damn kite for some reason! Also distracting for me- those 3 small dots inside the globe- looks like some kinda nail/screws on the other side of the globe, but appears as lens dustballs. :)

Bill the trees create an abstractness in what could have been a much more simple image. A good photograph like this pulls you in to study it. only suggestion would be to play with the contrast or brightness until you get a true black.
