This photo makes me happy. Strongest element: interaction between shadow and form in the tree and bicycle. Most distracting: the window at the top. Maybe crop a little lower?

Notwithstanding that there is a bicycle outside, this photo effectively conveys a sense of winter to me. Nicely done.

I would crop out the window frame at the top... other than that, I love this image...

Strength- The framing of the bicycle. Distracting- everything else. That moment with the tree and bicycle is so lovely and graceful, it deserves it's own story.

Pat, great B&W. Good use of space and composition. The tree shadow is subtle enough to set the mood and the bike and stars create an interesting balance. I agree with Bill this does say winter.

That shadow of the tree says winter for me, too. In a way, I'm with Carly that the sign on the building and the shop window detract from the tree, but when I start cropping those things out, I lose the beauty of the tree's shadow. In the end, the only crop that I thought improved what you've done is cropping on the right through that first large limb/trunk, effectively putting the bike at the right third and avoiding that strip of light on the right edge.

Great photo, lots of cropping possibilities too. Beautiful (Lazy/restful) afternoon/winter light and shadow well captured, BW good choice, has a story/mood behind it (and can make different stories/moods by cropping at various places). If I were taking the photo and knew it would come out like this, I would take 15 more!
