Have you been to Chinatown to eat before? What are your thoughts of Chinatown? If you've been, which restaurants have you been to and what are your favorite dishes?

Love exploring Chinatown, and don't do it often enough. My favorite dish eggplant stuffed with shrimp at Sang Kee. Banana Leaf was an eye-opener as I'd never had Malaysian food before.

Is there a particular restaurant that you've been wanting to try in Chinatown but never have? Generally, what are your favorite foods?

Lee How Fook. From what I hear it has the traditional Cantonese menu I remember from growing up in Brooklyn. I'd like the nostalgia.

As we are looking for the adventurous and those willing to try anything once tell us what is the strangest thing you've ever ate.

Don't know where to start: Squirrel, snake, grasshoppers, sumac, puffballs...Rabbit isn't even adventurous.

Would you consider yourself a lover of Asian food? If so, what country's cuisine do you love the most and why?

Yes, I love them all. Prefer quality over quantity. Done well does not equal expensive. Since I can't eat the atmosphere, a hole-in-the-wall works for me.

What's the main reason you wish to join this group and what would you like to gain from this group that will make your time worth while?

More exposure to Chinatown and camaraderie with people who love Asian culture. I might also like to take up study of Mandarin again.

Have been interested in Asian culture for many years -- especially food, philosophy, and decorative arts. Look forward to the opportunity to know Chinatown better.
