🇪🇸 A la sombra de Santa Barbara, dos idiomas, varias voces
Una ciudad y provincia de luz y arte, Alicante cuenta con una herencia de poesía entre locales y poetas oriundos de otros lares. La Alicante Poetry Society, begun by Dr. David-Clark Knowlton se basa en esa herencia para reunir a poetas de diversos orígenes. En el inicio, reunía a personas de habla inglesa, por lo cual su nombre se hizo en ese idioma, pero pronto se integraron a sus talleres bisemanales nacionales y extranjeros de habla hispana por lo cual su trabajo se realiza en idioma castellano y el anglosajón. Dentro de ese marco se invitan trabajos de diversas temáticas y formas, desde vanguardia a tradicional, desde lectura a performance. Este recital presentará algunos de sus poetas con amigos de la sociedad. Este será un evento bilingüe: se compartirán poemas tanto en español como en inglés.

🇬🇧 In the Shadow of Santa Barbara: Two Languages, Multiple Voices
A province of light and art, Alicante has a heritage of poetry composed by its children and residents from other mothers. The Alicante Poetry Society, created by Dr. David-Clark Knowlton, based on that heritage, brings together poets of diverse citizenships. In the beginning, it drew English speaking poets, hence its name. Spaniards and other Spanish speakers, soon joined its biweekly gatherings. As a consequence, it’s work is carried out in both languages: Castilian and Anglo. Within this frame, the Society invited poets who use diverse themes and forms, from the vanguard to traditional, from performance to reading. This recital will present poets from the Society along with friends. This will be a bi-lingual event - poems will be shared in both Spanish & English.
