Also I searched for the Rewrite Extension but couldn't find it,
however I've been using Redirect Helper Lite 1.1.1 which, from
what I can tell, does the same job.

Google Analytics Panel (embedded into control panel homepage)
Blispublish button (quick save and save accessible from anywhere on edit page)
BN Template menu (dropdown menus on Templates tab to quickly get to template group or template)
Templatizer (ftp new templates without having to create them in control panel)
Publish improve (already using this but hadn't noticed the 'save as new copy' feature which is tucked away in there - seems quite powerful)
Entry reedirect (choose where user lands after saving an entry)
Publishers Clearinghouse (remove a weblog from Publish menu - YES!)

For the newbies in the house, Playa, FF Matrix, Field Frame and WYGWAM - which were all mentioned - can be found at Brandon Kelly's new add-on boutique Pixel and Tonic.

I can't find the article someone mentioned (written by Brandon Kelly?) about how to save a search on the edit page as a tab (so you can choose a set of filters and keep revisiting that list of entries)

Big thanks again to Peter from Twobelowzero for leading the discussion by showing us around one of his site's control panels and add-ons.

Thanks for posting all of this.

Here's Brandon Kelly's tip on saving entry filters on tabs.

What was it that the 'Rewrite Extension' did that was so useful? There are several redirect addons of one sort or another.

For what it's worth, I tend to limit addons used in my installs as much as possible, unless they're things I've written myself. Often I've discovered bugs or problems. However, I do almost always use Solspace's Freeform module, Brandon's Fieldframe extension, Lumis' Image Sizer plugin, Silenz' TruncHTML plugin. Solspace's User module is invaluable when doing anything with members outside the CP. I've also used Cocoaholic's REEorder module (now Low Reorder module), and Brandon's Playa extension. Hop Studios Deeploy Helper module is great for dealing with install settings.

Others also use Purple Dogfish's Pur Developer extension, Experience Internet's Developer Info module or Erik Reagan's Developer Toolbar extension to make access to dev settings speedier. Silenz' Restricted Area module looks useful for dealing with the old members in more than one group issue. People keep recommending Travis Schmeisser's Structure Module too for simpler, more standard sites.

I guess that's a lot of the usual suspects.

Hi all sorry for the delay in getting this online.
Here is a list of all the plugins and extensions discussed at the last meetup. PDF file.

Thanks Gez.

Did you talk about modules at all as well?

Yep, we talked about...

The brilliant Freeform of course (http://www.solspace.c....

I was shocked how pointless the User module (http://www.solspace.c...) was and that you could do it all now inside normal templates without spending a penny (or cent).

The fantastic Structure module (http://www.buildwiths...) and how I can't build a site without it and it's useful additions: Entry REEdirect (http://github.com/amp...) and Structure Entries (by a cracking developer - erm. me).

And the rewrite module v2 that nobody can find (http://www.trulyee.co..., erm, probably because it no longer exists. hmmm.

Archived page from their site is here:
http://www.iterasi.ne...

Can't find anything on the forums, but if anyone want a copy give me a shout. It's a brilliant and reliable plugin though biggrin

Oh, and I waffled on about a handy extension called SEO Gadget (actually a plugin), which then turned out to not be the one I wanted to talk about!

What I actually wanted to show was Landing Page (http://www.putyourlig...) - which allows you to interpret the search keywords used in Google (etc) or website that the user came from to get to your site and then you can redirect them or show them different or relevant content.

Is there a link to how you do this is, or is it something they've sorted out in 2.0?

I only tried this once, ages go before swopping to using the User module. I'd be happy if I could bin it.

Thanks for the further info on modules Peter.

Re. Trulyee: Don't know if you know this or not.... Victor Gutierrez was banned from EE. I don't know the details exactly.

http://expressionengine.com/forums/viewthread/106022/#533578

All his posts vanished overnight (which makes some threads where he contributed quite disjointed now), and then everything at his websites etc vanished too.

Bits are beginning to resurface now as various developers of course have copies of what was available for download and the license they were released under seems to allow it:

I'd love to have a look at a copy of the Rewrite module.

Re Solspace user module - I use it because of the flexibility it gives me compared with skinning the user templates themselves. It also makes it much easier to show/hide bits that I do or don't want displayed to a member and to integrate with other template code. Have you found some other means of dealing with that sort of thing?

Are you talking about BN Member Template Freedom? I've not used that before - must have missed its release: it's not listed on the developer's addon overview page.

Thanks for the links regarding trulyee - I'll read up over the weekend.

No the member templates are next to useless - god knows what they were thinking when they locked them down.

Most of the forms can be replicated in normal templates - login, register, forgotten password, change username/password, update profile. It's just taken me a long time to work out how!

I sent all the details to Stephen via email, I'll drop you an email with them in. If anyone else wants them, shout.
