A Deeper Look at the Life & Work of Milton Erickson (by Betty Erickson)-01/12/14

A Deeper Look at the Work and Life of Milton Erickson

Date: Jan. 12th, 2014

Time: 10AM - 5:30 PM

Location: NY Open Center, 22 E. 30th St, NYC.

Milton Erickson was one of the most creative and effective hypnotherapists of the Twentieth Century whose work is renowned worldwide. His ability to distill many of the complexities of life to simple yet extraordinarily deep realizations was unparalleled, as was his capacity to offer this broadened perspective to each person he worked with to enhance their self-knowledge. Betty Alice Erickson worked  with her father as a hypnosis demonstration subject for decades and also consulted with him about her own work with disturbed adolescents. From her unique perspective, she has given audiences around the world clear and concise steps in understanding this remarkable man and much of his work in more depth, and in ways that benefit them both personally and clinically in work as therapists. This program uses active trance work, demonstrations, discussion and case studies.

Betty Alice Erickson, co-editor of Milton Erickson: An American Healer with Bradford Keeney, has authored numerous book chapters and articles. An Approved Consultant for the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and plenary speaker for many international conferences, she has received numerous awards for her work and teaching.

To whet your appetite, here is an extract, Doug got permission to post on his website from Daniel Short & Betty Erickson’s book - Hope & Resilency: Understanding the Psychotherapeutic Strategies of Milton H. Erickson.  It is a wonderful story about one of Milton’s cases.

I want to thank all my NLP & Hypnosis friends and trainers who helped spread the word, Doug O'Brien, Jonathan Altfeld, Melissa Tiers, Shawn & Sarah Carson, and everyone else.
