Sarah Schwarz first came to the movement through her faith and passion for rights of all people. In college she studied religion and social work and through that became involved in social justice advocacy and campaigns on campus. She went on to work with Interfaith Worker Justice, organizing the faith and labor communities together in Phoenix, AZ. Learning of the struggles immigrant workers face daily, she continued her mission and advocated for workers' rights as an International Organizer for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. Through both experiences and ideals instilled in her by her mother, she knew that human rights and climate change were inseparable.
