The Washington DC chapter of the Sierra Club will be partnering with WeatherizeDC to assist them in their efforts to help Washington DC become one of the most energy efficient cities in the nation!

WeatherizeDC is the project of a local non-profit effort to weatherize 200 homes in Northwest DC by March. They are organizing communities to weatherize homes block by block, due to the fact that WeatherizeDC can receive community discounts from local contractors if the weatherization of homes is done in large groups. This is your chance to take direct action that will help reduce carbon emissions and create good green jobs here in DC. WeatherizeDC, along with the DC Chapter of the Sierra Club, will be Trick or Treating for Weatherization this Saturday around Georgetown University. We will be knocking on doors and signing up homeowners to have their homes weatherized, reduce their carbon footprint, and save on their energy bills.

Check out the video of a recent WeatherizeDC canvass!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Fj3YOTcxUQ

Just a couple hours of your time can lead to 2 homes being weatherized, the equivalent of taking 6 cars off the road. It's a small amount of time that can have a huge impact!

Meet at 1:00 p.m. to pick up materials and get a quick training on what to say and how to canvass. The generic campus address for Georgetown University is 37th Street NW and O Street NW, and several buses serve that portion of Georgetown. The DC Sierra Club and WeatherizeDc group will be meeting at the
ICC Building, which does not have a street address: please consult this map for precise location--

Costumes encouraged! Please dress appropriately for an afternoon trip around the neighborhood. Weatherization or green-job-themed costumes are highly encouraged. :)

Please RSVP to [address removed] or call (202)[masked] with any questions (or great costume ideas!)
