Celebrate the AT at 100! CT Section Hike # 2: Mt. Algo to Bulls Bridge, Kent, Mo

Description: This hike, canceled from its original date in May due to rain, is part of a series of moderate hikes covering all of the CT AT. The approx. 7.5-8 mile hike will run between Rt. 341 in Kent and Bulls Bridge. Total elevation gain for the hike is approximately 1850 ft, including a steepish ascent in the beginning up Mt. Algo (summit 1139 ft.). The trail includes: moderately rugged, often rocky/rooted ups and downs through woodland forest; some lovely views of the Housatonic River; and a couple of stream crossings. Our pace will be an average 1.8 to 2mph, with at least two short breaks. Bring water and snacks/lunch. Poles can be helpful for steepish ascents/descents and water-crossing conditions at the streams. No dogs, please. REGISTRATION WILL BE LIMITED due to limited parking at both trailheads (car spotting is required.). Heavy rain cancels. Leader will provide more details and exact parking directions to registered hikers the day before the hike morning.
