This tour is geared for experienced intermediate level or better cyclists. Mileage will range from 30 to 50 miles a day over rolling to mountainous terrain. Luggage will be shuttled to our destination each day. Our trek will begin in Spokane, Washington, the city with a waterfall at its heart and outdoor beauty all around. Our route will take us through three states using back roads, as well as a famous paved rail trail. We will even take a day to do a liveried easy mountain bike trip to the Route of The Hiawatha, a popular unpaved rail trail through the mountains of Bitterroot range with many trestles and tunnels. Back on our road bikes, we'll continue riding the trail and roads along the shores of lakes and rivers. This route has surprisingly little car traffic as we take the road less travelled across the Idaho panhandle and into Montana's Flathead Basin for a dip in a hot spring resort pool. We'll ride the shore of Flathead Lake to West Glacier where we will set off on our finale, a trip up the Going-To-The-Sun Road on rented e-bikes. July is a wonderful time of year to be in this part of the country. There are rarely clouds, let alone rainy days. Wildflowers and wildlife abound along our route each day. Our accommodations will be hotels with a local flavor and delicious local cuisine. Dinner and breakfast are included each day along with lunch on two days. Riders are expected to complete the route on their bike each day but bags will be shuttled and the route will be swept by our luggage van. Each day will be a unique adventure as we ride into a new landscape each day, beginning on the Palouse, the rolling green valleys of Eastern Washington. From there we'll ride along the shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene and into Idaho's Silver Valley, over the Bitterroot Divide, into the Flathead basin and ending in the Rockies of Glacier National Park. We will then be shuttled back to Spokane for a night before heading home.
