Hello all,

The Amsterdam Node Meetup will be back the 23rd of April! This time will head to the Publitas office in Amsterdam as the folks of Publitas offered to host the April edition of AMS Node Meetup! We are very thankful and like how this shows that more and more of you want to participate in the Amsterdam Node community! Publitas will take care of the location, beers, pizza's and will give a short company update of what they do and what role Node.js has in their organization.

For the April edition we have two speakers:

Matthias Behrens (Promiseland, Vienna)

All the way from Vienna Matthias followed an autodidactic approach to learn Software Engineering and started programming JavaScript 1998:

My software helps Freelancers and It-Project finding each other at www.gulp.de (http://www.gulp.de/); Airliners to save tons of money by finding the most cost-efficient route for their Planes and right now i am creating a CMS.I am an active Open Source Programmer since a bit over 2 years and recently took over maintaining the Broadway.js project.

The talk: nodeMirror - A easy to install / use frontend / IDE / Admin tool for node.js. I'll give an Overview over its functions and explain my motivation to create it.

I will also try to give insights into what i have learned since it was my first node.js project.

And finish by showing how it lead to my involvement in Broadway.js and the creation of promiseLand.

Auke van Scheltinga (Proto, Amsterdam)

Auke is a partner at Proto, a boutique tech firm that works with startup founders to create new products. Auke's specialty is building backends from scratch for web and iOS apps, always ensuring rigorous and realistic prioritization of functionality.

For a recent client project we leveraged a Strongloop back end (node.js, postgres) with an AngularJS front end. I'd like to share some details around our experience building within this stack to help you understand if it's a good fit for any of your projects.
