April meetup - Snow by Orhan Pamuk
"I am proud of the part of me that isn't European. I'm proud of the things in me that the Europeans find childish, cruel, and primitive. If the Europeans are beautiful, I want to be ugly; if they're intelligent, I prefer to be stupid; if they're modern let me stay pure.” ... it's taken from this month's winner... Snow by Orhan Pamuk . There might be some cultural et political issues in this book...!!? Enjoy your reading!!! Note: Price covers a drink of your choice : coffee, tea, a cold drink or a glass of wine... You don't have to pay before the event (even if it is marked as unpaid) Due to Easter Monday holidays, this meetup is on the 2nd Monday of April (and not the 1st, as usual)

If you love reading, live in Paris, but don't feel up to discussing the finer points of Proust in French, welcome to an English-speaking book club.

We'll meet once a month to discuss the nominated book and our recent reads. The chosen books might be by a classic French author, or might feature France or Paris heavily within the book, or might be just any other book, proposed and chosen by the group members...

You can choose whether to read them in either English or French: the discussion will always be in English.

Members are welcome to nominate each month's book. The first hour of each meeting will be spent discussing that month's read, and the final half hour is open to discussion of any other books we've read that month, whether you love them or loathe them!
