Announcing a new Meetup for The Paris Anglophone Book Club!

What: January meetup

When: Wednesday, January 19,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Food Court
Carrousel du Louvre rue de Rivoli

Dear all

Thanks to everybody who suggested books at yesterday's meetup for January. I've chosen Romain Gary's La Vie Devant Soi, written under the name Emile Ajar (apparently available in in English as either 'Life Before us' or Madame Rosa'). Set in Belleville, it's the story of the relationship between a young Arab boy and an elderly Jewish woman, and won the Prix Goncourt in 1975.

Cards on the table: I've already read this book and LOVED it so this is my chance to share it and to hear your thoughts. Plus (the hard sell) it's under 200 pages and not too challenging if you want to read in French.

Happy reading,
