Dear Shira,

As I'm not involved with this situation directly, but merely a messenger, I'd appreciate it if you directed your questions to Irv, who is trying to help the cats. Please call Irv at (310)[masked] or email him at [address removed].

Thanks,

Subject: [animalrights-177] foster and/or permanent home for 3 felines needed ASAP

Hello everyone,

Below is an email description of 3 cats who need homes right away from an animal rescue person named Irv Gershenz. The cats are located in West LA right now and need someone to foster them by TOMORROW - Wednesday! If you or anyone you know can help, please call Irv at (310) 701-8199.  If you would like to see pictures, please email me directly at [address removed].

Thanks,
Armaiti

This is an update of a letter I sent out before Christmas.  Before the
cats moved to the lady's apt.

Thank you very much in helping with these wonderful sweet 3 musketeers.
LUCKY = black      SY = Siamese*     OK = orange kitty

They have truly loved living in the garden and are not feral.
They rarely wondered off of the area. They slept in chairs and in the
grass.

All three are neutered, all three have fleas, all three prefer wet to
dry, but have
been getting only dry for 8 months now,  all three love each other.

All three are best approached, if a PERSON SITS DOWN in a chair, and
let's them
come to her/him.
Lucky can be approached, simply by standing still, and he will come to
you and rub.

Like all outdoor cats (or any cat) they need a little warm up time.

Of course all three to one home would be on my Christmas list.

But, if any should go together if should be Lucky and Sy.
However, any combo would work.
Lucky would be easiest on his own, but would demand a lot of attention,
if no brothers
went along! He cleans the other two. Sy does some cleaning also.

I will try to  explain all three.

Lucky, the black kitty is approx 7 years old.  He is the boss of the
group.
He has a special place in my heart, a very wise wonderful soul/cat.
He reigns with a very soft touch, and want only to be cuddled.
He can be picked up, he rubs your legs, and gets on his hind legs to pat
your hand
from the ground. Food is his great motivator, but loves "love" a close
second.
Lucky jumps on my lap whenever I sit down. You can pick up Lucky (once
he has gotten
to know you  for a few minutes) and walk with him. He really wants to
be an indoor
kitty.  He will bolt inside any apartment if the door is open. He has
slept in my
apt. and does demand a good deal of attention.

Sy, the Siamese was also left at the property by an old tenant.   He
could be as
old as 10, I'm not sure.  He comes up to me while I have Lucky in my
lap on
a chair, and may jump up for a long rub or just stay at ground level
and watch.
He can be picked up, as long as it it for a rub onto your lap.  He
doesn't want
to be picked up and walked around. He will stay on my lap for as long
as I will
let him for a very sweep rub up.  Sy, also wants to be an indoor kitty,
but is cautious
and only goes in if Lucky goes in first.

The Orange Kitty, OK, is younger than the other two.  Maybe 3 years
old.
He wants desperately to be like Lucky and Sy, but is afraid.
When you pick him up he goes limp, and then once on your lap, wants to
get down.
He loves petting, ONLY if he is touching the ground with all paws. He
will rub and
rub your leg IF you sit down in a chair. He doesn't like people
standing over
him.  He is not as food driven as the Lucky, but on the same keel as
Sy.
This orange cat just needs more time and love and he will come around.
Sometimes I see great strides in his trust issues. OK will go into an
apt if the
other two are already in.  He has come in by himself, but bolts if he
thinks he
is trapped in. He just needs time to become an indoor kitty.

Lucky and Sy have a deeper bond, but also have known each other 4 years
longer.

Sy and OK kitty  don't lie next to each other as much as Lucky and Sy.

Lucky and Sy spend cold nights huddled together.  All three will sleep
together,
if it is very cold or raining. (on chair on  porch).

I have been feeding these guys for years, and have a good idea of
behavior.

By the by, they got along well with my Mitten (girl). In fact SY had a
crush on her,
and would lie within a foot of her whenever she lay down.

Thanks again,

Irv

I have many other pics.

The cats were  at 8931 ELLIS Ave.  Near Venice and Robertson

Thanks very much.

Believe it or not Wed is the deadline.
