You might remember that when Second Chance Animal Rescue sanctuary, (SCAR), in Swanley, Kent was broken into last year, some animals were killed and dogs were stolen! Since then, John Ranger, who runs SCAR, has improved security and now stays overnight on the site in Crockenhill near Swanley in Kent.
I am proposing that we hold a street collection around Camberley (where I live) in July to raise funds for Second Chance to improve conditions for the animals there. John has been working very hard to improve living accommodation for the animals but there is still much to be done! The sanctuary is only about two years old and John has built it up from nothing, becoming a charity just over a year ago.
To give you an idea of the animals’ wish list: 15 much needed cat pens are going to cost £3,000, 100 rabbit hutches will be £4,800, solar heating panels for next winter will cost between £16,000 and £24,000 and more is needed for stabling etc. There is no electricity or gas on site so the solar panels are a must for keeping the animals warm during the colder months.
The council permit will be to collect in Camberley, Heatherside and Lightwater areas.

Please, if you are free on Friday 19th or Saturday 20th July and can help for a couple of hours - do get in touch as I need others desperately to help me. I have 7 tins and awaiting some leaflets too.
On behalf of the animals - thank-you. Cathy
