Maine Humane Lobby Day 2009 was excellent. We had the opportunity to discuss animal welfare legislation with many legislators and Governor Baldacci.

Katie began the day with a presentation that was well organized, clear and informative. She fielded questions, which added to the helpful information we received. The information sheets, Katie provided, on each of the three bills we were discussing were clearly written and included important details. Katie demonstrates an inclusive attitude towards diverse personalities and viewpoints, which is important in forming a strong coalition to help animals - and a modeling of the greater caring we want in our society. Katie did a wonderful job of setting up, for our numerous attendees, appointments or letting us know the committee meetings in which we might find each of our two legislators. She even brought photos of all the legislators. I look forward to our next Maine Humane Lobby day.
