The Washtenaw County 2nd Saturday RPG Meetup

  • Dec 13, 2014 · 3:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

We have a new location this month, thanks to Andi, Rachael and Reino.  This is great news for the group.  The location is not far from Rawsonville Rd and I-94.  There will be a more extensive write-up in the next couple days about who is doing what at this event.

I (Jim) will be running a low level D&D 5th edition game, possibly the beginners box adventure. Since most of us are unfamiliar with the new rules, I want to do something easy to get a feel for it.

Chris is going to GM a Swords and Wizardry (White box) game, with abbreviated house rules for new players. Pre-generated characters will be available. It will be rules-light, kinda zany, slightly dark, high lethality. come die unexpectedly, and have a ton of fun doing it.

We have grown to having 3 tables most of the time, and sometimes 4.  Thanks to those who have volunteered to GM an event.

The purpose of the 2nd Saturday Meetup is to bring together experienced players with people new to, or rejoining the RPG world. The games are short one time adventures. No experience is necessary.  We do rely on members to run events and help us out when needed. Our biggest need is for DM's. I like to have at least 2 DM's so we can handle 14 or more players. Any game system is OK to DM. There are a whole bunch of great systems other than D&D and we feel it is valuable for players to experience them. We want all players to have fun, meet other like minded people and make connections for opportunities to play outside the Meetup.

If you ever have questions Tracey, Jim or I are always willing to help.

Roll a 20,

Dennis

Is anyone going to be going either from Ann Arbor to the meetup at the start or back the other way at the end? I can catch a bus to the meetup if necessary, but making it back home without a ride would require either renting a car or getting a taxi.

If you got dice don bring them but we should have more than enough to share. Bring $5 if you want pizza that is what we usually get, feel free to bring snacks for yourself or to share.

Is there anything id need to bring if my work schedule permits attending? I'm basically completely new to tabletop d&d, but played 5e a couple times in the beta testing.

I'm definitely going to try my best to make it this Saturday work schedule permitting. Is there anything I need to bring? My only experience is playing 5e a couple times during the beta test, so for a

Hello everyone! I'm not sure where we stand on the players to DMs ratio, but I have myself +2 that would love to attend. My +2 are both relatively new and would prefer a 5e game if possible (where their experience lies).

Have DMs been determined yet? If so, who is running what? If not, I might be interested in running a (tiny, relatively speaking) chunk of Rappan Athuk using (slightly house-ruled) Swords and Wizardry: White Box.

I did 4th and 5th level. I think the rogue was 5th to get better skills. That is what Gary did when he ran cons. As far as content, plan or gruesome but tone it down if kids are at the table. We haven't had many kids lately so that anything should be fine.
