Gas Fireplace Construction + Safety Requirements in Commercial + Residential Design

This course provides information about contemporary direct-vent gas fireplaces, the different styles available, and the construction and safety requirements for incorporating them into a design project. Attendees will learn the environmental and efficiency benefits of a direct vent gas fireplace with the added safety of cool wall technology vs. a traditional wood burning and/or open faced fireplace. The presentation begins with the various fireplace models and continues through the product specifications, safety clearances, efficiency benefits, installation and design requirements including drawing details and sample applications. Slides will follow through the design and building stages in the order that a typical project would progress, allowing the architect and design professional to take a lead role in the successful design and installation of this element in the construction project.
