Ok gang, we had to move the camp out due to Knoll Lake being closed due to heavy snow. Instead will move to a site just North of Payson.
Drive all the way through Payson and almost to Pine on Hwy. 260 at exactly mile marker 265 take a right on Fire Control at GPS coordinates[masked] [masked]. One of the sign posts will have a yellow bag over the top of it.
As you turn onto the nice, very smooth graded dirt road, you will see a brown sign that says East Verde River 10 miles. See pictures below.
Then drive exactly 2.3 miles and turn right on the dirt road 100 ft. before the cattle guard at GPS coordinates[masked] [masked] and look for my muddy tan suburban with silver rims. Pictures are below, in order to give you visual clues. It would be a good idea to print these driving directions before you leave home, just in case your phone dies or looses signal.
I am already camped here, so feel free to come up anytime. My phone[masked] has one bar of signal. I might be able to receive phone calls, if not you can also try sending a text.
I will start actively watching for people at 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday. If you're going to arrive later, let me know when you plan to arrive and the group will be watching for you.
It should be very easy to find if you follow these directions.
Please bring a couple of bundles of wood, water and a shovel if you have them. Water and shovel are for proper fire control.
There are plenty of trees, but the main site where the fire pit is wide open, which will be very cool when the moon and stars come up. It should be crystal clear all night.
You might bring a shade tent if you have one. There are plenty of places to camp with a car/tent, but RVs will have a hard time turning around, but there are nice big spots just before the the spot that I have selected.
Look at the pictures for visual clues. hehehe.
