šŸŽØ Color Stories: Playing with Meaning & Saturation

Details

Ever noticed how a single shade can shift a mood, tell a story, or spark a memory? Color isn't just a visual choice—it’s an emotional language. In this session, we’ll dive into the psychological and symbolic power of color, and explore how to soften, shift, and tune a hue to say exactly what we want it to say.

We'll start with a creative warm-up discussion:
🌈 What does color mean to you?
šŸ’¬ What do certain colors symbolize in your life or culture?
🧠 How do you feel when you see certain hues?
Then we’ll move into a hands-on exercise where you'll learn how to decrease saturation in acrylic or gouache paint—an essential (and surprisingly simple) technique that can make your color palette more subtle, intentional, and emotionally rich.

By the end of the session, you’ll create a personalized color board that you can take home and refer to anytime you work with color again—whether in art, design, journaling, or just decorating your space.
šŸ’” You’ll walk away with: šŸŽØ A new understanding of how to ā€œquietā€ colors while still keeping their spirit
šŸŒ™ Insight into the emotional and symbolic impact of your chosen palette
šŸ–Œ A set of technical skills that make your colors more meaningful, not just beautiful
