Beginning on Saturday the 9th of March, and continuing on a weekly basis every Saturday after that (with the exception of holiday weekends) until the Summer, Andrew will teach a Still Life Drawing Class at The Lantern Centre on Synge St (just of Harrington St.) in Dublin 8.

The class is suitable for ANYONE, even absolute beginners. If you are not sure whether you would enjoy Still Life Drawing, please consider attending the Introduction to Still Life Drawing scheduled for 2nd March.

Your learning in the class will be centered and based on your own level of experience and knowledge. Because of this, the class will not function the way a course would - instead it will give you the freedom to come to a session here and there, and your arc of learning will begin from where you are at at the beginning of each class. The approach will also allow you to advance from week to week, if you wish to attend on a regular basis.

The Lantern Centre is a peaceful and atmospheric venue, and the class will be held in the West Court room, which is very comfortable, has lots of natural light and is a perfect size for a class such as this one.

Classes will take place between 2:30pm and 4:45pm, and will cost €20 for a drop in, or you can pay in advance for a minimum of six weeks for €15 per session. Fees must be payed before each session begins, so come a few minutes earlier to get this out of the way!

As far as parking is concerned: the Lantern Centre have made an agreement with the secondary school next door (along Synge St.) that they can use the car park of the school when it is not in session. Therefore, anyone attending this class on a Saturday will be able to avail of the secondary school car park. The only area not to be used by us is the area immediately to the left as you drive into the school yard.

There is also a Luas stop nearby at Harcourt, and buses run past on a regular basis along Harrington St.

At first, hard-back sketchbooks are required, but as time goes on, students will begin to work on drawing boards and easels, which will be provided. Some drawing media will also be provided, but please make sure to bring your own pencils, charcoal, graphite, colouring pencils, etc. as well as rubbers and a blade or penknife for sharpening pencils.

If - and only if - you wish to attend on a regular basis, please RSVP on this page so that the Organiser can get an idea of numbers to attend. Drop-in students need not RSVP.

Hope to see you soon at this great new class!
