This play had a nice, well-reviewed Broadway run a couple years ago with Alan Rickman in the lead role. We've had a great time at Round House this year - their play selection has been outstanding.
This is a Washington-area premiere so it is very exciting. PWYC tickets go on sale at 6:30 and the play starts at 7:30. I put 5:30 to meet because it was nice last time to socialize and relax knowing we were at the front of the line. But if it's like last time, you can come a little later as well - everyone who came got a seat. We'll wait in line, get tickets and then walk across the street and grab something to eat at Booeymongers.
DESCRIPTION: Writing turns into a contact sport in the fast, funny, and smart new comedy by Pulitzer Prize nominee Theresa Rebeck.
Four aspiring young novelists sign up for private classes with Leonard, an international literary figure. Under his recklessly brilliant and unorthodox instruction, some thrive and others flounder, alliances are made and broken, sex is used as a weapon, and hearts are unmoored. They came for a class in writing but got a lesson in survival. Laughter abounds in this hit from Broadway’s most-produced female playwright.
